TrueTropical is an independent software research and review publication. Affiliate relationships help support the publication, but they do not determine which products we cover, how we evaluate them, or which products or alternatives we recommend.

What an affiliate link means

An affiliate link is a link that allows TrueTropical to receive a commission if a reader completes an eligible purchase, subscription, registration, or other qualifying action after following that link.

The price paid by the reader is generally not increased because of the affiliate relationship. The exact commercial terms, commission rates, qualifying actions, and payment arrangements are determined by the relevant affiliate program.

How affiliate relationships support TrueTropical

Affiliate commissions can help fund the costs of researching, testing, maintaining, and publishing TrueTropical's content. They are one part of our business model and are not intended to turn the site into an affiliate storefront.

Our objective is to publish content that remains useful on its own merit. The usefulness of an article should not depend on whether a particular link generates a commission.

Affiliate relationships do not determine our recommendations

Software development by TrueTropical

We develop free, ad-free Windows utilities, including SysBar and ClockAlarmFree. TrueTropical does not realize any commercial benefit from this activity. Nonetheless, if we review a product that competes with software we develop, we will say so in a disclosure line at the top of that review.

Our editorial standard

Commercial relationships and editorial judgment are kept separate. We do not intend to represent paid placement as independent editorial judgment, and we do not knowingly allow affiliate compensation to determine the substance or outcome of our reviews and comparisons.
