TrueTropical publishes practical research, reviews, and comparisons of software, SaaS, AI, automation, productivity, and related tools. Our goal is to help readers make better decisions based on how products actually work, where they fit, where they fall short, and what they cost.

Editorial independence

Editorial decisions are made independently of affiliate relationships and other commercial considerations. A product does not receive favorable treatment simply because TrueTropical has a commercial relationship with its provider.

Affiliate availability is not a requirement for coverage. We often cover products that do not offer affiliate programs, and we may recommend an alternative that is a better fit for a particular reader even when we do not have a commercial relationship with the other product provider.

How we evaluate products

Our evaluations focus on practical use rather than promotional claims. Depending on the subject, our work may involve hands-on testing, product and documentation research, pricing research, workflow evaluation, comparisons, or a combination of these.

Where relevant, we distinguish between what we personally test and what we establish through research. We aim to make the scope of our work clear so readers can understand the basis of our conclusions.

Reviews and recommendations

A review is not intended to imply that a product is universally good or bad. We evaluate products in context, including their intended users, strengths, limitations, cost, complexity, and practical fit.

Recommendations are based on the evidence and reasoning presented in the article. The presence or value of an affiliate relationship does not determine a product's rating, ranking, or placement in a comparison.

Affiliate relationships

Some links on TrueTropical may be affiliate links. When a reader purchases through an eligible link, TrueTropical may receive a commission at no additional cost to the reader.

Accuracy and corrections

We aim to make our published information accurate and useful, including product features, pricing, availability, and other details that can change over time. Because software products and commercial terms can change, published information may become outdated after an article is released.

When we identify a material factual error, we aim to correct it and, where appropriate, make the change clear to readers. Our Corrections Policy explains how we handle factual corrections and related requests.

What we will not do

TrueTropical does not intend to present paid placement as independent editorial judgment, hide material commercial relationships, or knowingly misrepresent a product's capabilities or limitations.

We also do not use affiliate relationships as a substitute for evidence. A product earns a recommendation by being useful for the stated use case, not simply by being commercially valuable to TrueTropical.

Our standard

The standard we aim to maintain is straightforward: the content should remain useful and trustworthy even if every affiliate link were removed.
